Discussion of PDF/UA Face to Face in March

March 5 and 6 at the AIIM Conference in Boston, DJ to publish the agenda shortly.
Group must author a paper on the topic of new tags proposed for ISO 32000
Probable attendees: FE, GP, CE, DJ, and likely NS.

ISO Meeting Report - Cherie Ekholm
In preparation for the Beijing meeting a set of proposals must be ready, essentially a
specification for what PDF/UA with reference to the ISO document that PDF/UA
wishes to amend. Deadline is end of August.

Paper should address the following: Why is the new tag needed, why what the new tag
addresses cannot be done with existing models, what is required to realize implementation
of the new tag. 

DJ reiterated the goal of producing a finished PDF/UA document in 2008

Review Action Items, progress indicators
DJ updated the Action Items, added a write up for PDF/UA for PDF 32000 and began developing an
agenda for the March face to face in Boston. Also added an item relating to development to a
time line for publication. Also confirm "completed" sections. Also confirm unnecessary entries.
ISO 32000 part 1 is complete and approved. In Orlando, the working group has been working on
the comments for part 2.

CE indicated PDF/UA can refer to the draft to reference sections in PDF 32000 if the DF/UA work group
wants to make its reference document PDF 32000

Continue review of specification subsections
Headers and footers module. Discussion of the running and headers footers. Should these be
ignored and designated as artifacts. Andres Gonzalez of Adobe had weighed in at the
previous meeting indicating PDF/UA should add new attributes or attribute values to artifacts
indicating which artifacts should be included and how they should be included allowing them to
be queryable on request. This is in accordance with JC's thoughts on the subject.

Update Action Items, review ASSIGNMENTS

DJ to make updates

Add attribute to artifact types
Add candidates for each attribute

Only the pagination artifact has header, footer, watermark

NS Reminded layout, page and background artifacts needed to be added
