Update Action Items, review ASSIGNMENTS.Annotationsthere is a new way to handle them and that's been implemented Wiki Menus DJ to do something with wiki menus. Action Item update Action Items Updated accordingly. Adobe's ISO and PDF Announcement DJ: But the PDF Reference today isn't in "ISO-ese" LDR/BF: True. However, as the document is brought into ISO it will be "reformatted" to meet the ISO requirements, but with a few changes as possible in order to maintain the integrity of the standard. Future versions, however, may find changes and enhancements DJ: So ISO will accept this format? BF: Yes. LDR: We will work with AIIM/ISO to do what is correct. DJ: What about areas that are ambiguous? LDR: If there are areas that need to be cleaned up, they will be addressed. NS: Will this impact us? Should we change to use it instead of Adobe's 1.6? BF: That's up to the committee. But if you don't, that's OK too.
LDR: There are good reasons to do this, since others are doing it NS: Were there actual tagging/structure changes? LDR: Yes DJ: Would all the PDF WG's come together? BF: No plans for this! NS: Will the PDF WG take other group's input? LDR: Of course! DJ: So they will keep PDF as a continuing process? LDR: Of course! DJ: So Adobe has to turn their directions over to the committee as well? LDR: Anything that Adobe wishes to have part of the public PDF standard, they will need to make available just like any other company. DJ: So this initial release will be 1.7 as it stands, and then future PDFs will be run by this committee? LDR/BF: Yes! DJ: but the committee can choose to change 1.7 now. LDR: Yes, true. though not a good idea DJ: What about great ideas, like Neil's Math work? BF/LDR: you can take it to the committee and they will make a decision. LDR: And PDF/UA isn't going away DJ: timeline? BF: still in development. Will be notified when we have more info. DJ: Works like UA? BF: Yes, just like any other ISO WG. What do you think you can contribute? DJ: we certainly hope you can help us with practical experience in how screen readers work and how they can/should look. SK: we hope to aid this committee in demonstrating our needs based on current limitations. Still have much more reading to do, but plan to have feedback.
